HTC Desire Over The Air Update For Android 2.3 Gingerbread Confirmed

HTC Desire was the most powerful phone launched at the end of 2009 & ruled the market as superphone for all the year 2010. HTC released its Android 2.2 update for this phone for making better & faster, which was quite successful. Now it was a matter of debate that will Taiwan based smartphone makers will provide Android 2.3 Gingerbread update or not for long time. As there are many users like me who still uses this phone over current new market lineup & it works so well that I m not willing to update to any other phone yet.

HTC has recently stated on their Facebook page  “”Hi everyone. As some of you have seen already, we have more news about our build of Gingerbread for Desire. Our testing has gone well so we will begin rolling out the update by the end of July. Thank you again for your support.”

HTC confirmed on Monday, that They have tested the build for HTC Desire phone few weeks back & its quite successful The update will be available to users of UK for first release that will be available Over-The-Air (OTA)

HTC Desire Got Android 2.3 Android Gingerbread Update

HTC Desire will become more feature rich thanks to the all new Android 2.3 – UI will be faster, better browsing experience & I am not sure will Google Video chat function will work or not – due to absence of camera.

If Desire is getting Android 2.3 update in UK then we can expect they will soon enough release it in India, US & other countries to as they have large number of user base for this specific phone.

We are thankful for HTC for this update as it will let Desire stay in market for another year successfully as a great android device but before some days there were updates form HTC about ‘Not getting gingerbread update for Desire’ and now they have suddenly announced this news.

Whatever, its a good news after all. And I will keep you updated on performance report sof HTC desire with Android 2.3 Gingerbread after OTA update.
