In Old School Runescape, money making is very important. You need money to buy new gear, get items and level up. There are a number of ways that you can make money in the game, but the key is to make the most using a time-effective method.
The most effective methods will be available to members only. However, there are some free-to-play methods that you can also use. Of course, these methods will result in less money, but every bit count.
If you are new to the game, you need to know about the methods and tactics to use to increase your in-game wealth. It can be overwhelming at first with the number of skills you can use as well as the kingdoms to explore. However, you will soon be able to get onto the right path to riches. If you are struggling to earn gold when you get started you can always go ahead and buy gold from Food4RS.com.
The Big Three
There are 3 primary skills that are most commonly used to make money in Old School Runescape and they are mining, woodcutting, and fishing. Members are going to have access to more money-making skills such as thieving, hinting, and runecrafting. Some of these will have no start-up costs and supplies which make them ideal to start with.
If you are not a member, the big three skills will be acquired over time. They will also make you some extra money, particularly if you know how to choose the right spots to use them. An example of this is the fact that you can make 450k per hour mining runite ore, but you need a mining skill of 85 to do this.
A lot of time will need to be spent to get to the level. This is why you should look at spending your time fishing and farming to get enough money for a membership and access to the member’s world.
When you farm ankous, you will need to have food with you. You should also have level 60+ defense, attack and strength. You will be able to make around 100k per hour with this method from the death runes, noted blood runes and other items.
To use this method, you will need to have level 8 crafting and the Amulet mold along with as many gold bars as you can get. You will need to have 27 gold bars on you when you go to the furnace with the best one being in Al Kharid. There you can get around 25 gp for each bar. The best way to get to the furnace will be to walk so you can conserve your energy which is very important when you are F2P.
To use this method, you need to have level 20 crafting and the ring mold. The best furnace for this will also be the one in Al Kharid. The steps for doing this will be very similar to crafting a gold bar. However, you will need to have 12 gold bars with you, the ring mold and 13 sapphires before you walk to the furnace and make the ring. You will then be able to sell the ring for the current price and make some profit.
For this method, you need level 15 smithing and a lot of iron ore. It is recommended that you withdraw all of your iron from the bank. You will generally be running back and forth between the furnace and the bank while you make iron bars. Some of these tips are going to be more profitable than others, but you will still make a decent profit.
When you become a member, you will be able to make more money without any requirements. One of these ways will be to tan blue dragonhide which requires no skills. You will also be able to make more from this than a F2P player using the 85-mining method.
The process will include going to the grand exchange and getting as many blue dragonhides as you can for the lowest possible price. You need to get as many of these hides as you can possibly afford. You should then place them in your bank by going to the Al Kharid bank and then go to Ellis who is right next to the furnace building. Trade with him and pay him to tan the hides. You can repeat this process and go back to the grand exchange where you sell the leather for a profit.
To make money using this method, you will need to have a Woodcutting level of 15. The best place to find oak trees will be east of Draynor Village Bank. You can also go west of Varroc to find these trees. However, it is important to note that oak trees are always in demand and you will generally not be the only person cutting them down. You should also note that the profit from this activity will vary depending on the demand.
