42 Gamers From Across India to Participate in Red Bull R1V1R Runes Finals

Red Bull is all set to make history again with Red Bull R1v1r Runes National Finals, being held for a second year in a row. This time the stakes are higher with 42 finalists who stormed through the qualifying events that were held across 20 Indian cities and online tournaments. The National Finals will take place on 22nd and 23rd November at Indiajoy, HICC Hyderabad.

R1v1r Runes makes the world’s most popular esports game Dota 2 even more exciting, by replacing its strategic team-based play with a more intense and exciting one-vs-one contest. With shorter, more action-packed matches, Red Bull R1v1r Runes brings all the right ingredients for competitions that are more intense for players and entertaining for spectators.

Among the 42 finalists some of the more notable names are:

  • Sahil Viradia (Mumbai) – Winner of last year’s Red Bull R1v1r Runes and member of Team GE
  • Ayusman Samal (Lucknow) – Attended almost all offline qualifying events across the country
  • Bari Naser Anwar (Hyderabad) – Captain of team Beyond Infinity and skilled Dota 2 player

The winner of the Red Bull R1v1r Runes National Finals will get the opportunity to meet a member of Team OG, the winners of The International 2018 and 2019, which is the world’s biggest, most lucrative and most hotly contested esports competition. The Red Bull R1v1r Runes India champion will win an all-expenses paid trip for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

India’s leading esports company, Nodwin Gaming, will be collaborating with Red Bull once again to take R1v1r Runes to an even larger audience across the country.

“We’re excited about the acceptance of Red Bull R1v1r Runes by the esports community in India. With a greater attendance in our qualifier events this year, we saw that the mod’s unique approach not only attracts esports players, but also skilled gamers from across India.” said Akshat Rathee, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Nodwin Gaming. “Red Bull’s commitment to esports in India is a testament to the escalating interest in India’s gaming community. We look forward to a thrilling National Finals in one of the most unique esports events in the world.”

In 2019, the Red Bull R1v1r Runes tournaments are being hosted by seven countries: India, Croatia, Germany, Philippines, Russia, Ukraine and the UK

About R1v1r Runes

Red Bull R1v1r Runes is a one-versus-one modification of Dota 2, that’s played only in the middle lane of a regular Dota 2 map with several adjustments to the game mechanics that make this a far more exciting and intense experience for individual gamers. This also means matches end faster, pushing your skill and reflexes to the limit.

Choose the hero you can dominate with to gain the upper hand and turn the tide in your favour within seconds. The win conditions are simple; the player to slay their opponent thrice or eliminate the T1 tower achieves victory and will rise as India’s top Dota 2 duellist.
