It is no news that virtual reality is taking over the gaming industry. VR offers a new kind of reality to gamers but available in full only to those who have the right tools for playing these games. One such tool – which happens to be the most important one – is a good laptop. A VR laptop must at least have the following minimum requirements:
- 8 Gig RAM
- HDMI 1.4
- Display of 1920 by1080
- USB 3.0 ports
- i5-6300HQ Intel processor.
- Windows 8 and above etc
In this article, however, we look at 5 laptops that can readily be used to play these games.
AORUS X7 DT
Simply put, this laptop was built for virtual reality and the many useful specs it comes with is a testament to this fact. Its screen is a whopping 17.3 inches wide – it hardly gets better than this. Also included is an SSD compatible data storage, the processing speed of 2.6GHz with the Core i7-6700HQ. Just like most VR laptops, this is a battery gulper when it comes to playing high-end VR games like Space Pirate Trainer. You can also play online roulette game from your laptop for some casual fun time.
MSI GT80 Titan
This laptop truly lives up to its name as titan seems to be a perfect word to describe it. It meets all the minimum requirements for Oculus and Vive as long as VR gaming is involved. With an HDD of up to 1 terabyte, the screen of 18.4 inches, 16 gig RAM, and excellent graphic aspect, your virtual reality is about to become a true reality. But then, watch out for the poor battery.
ALIENWARE 17
Just like the Titan described above, Alienware 17 has what it takes to deliver best user experience in the VR world. Apart from its specs, the other thing that sets this laptop apart from the others is its gaming design; LED strips, form and so on. With 17.3 inch display, Intel Skylake i7-6700HQ and a host of other features, it meets up with VR demands.
MSI GE62VR
It may not have the biggest screen size in the industry but it sure meets up with the minimum requirements for all true VR laptops. Its most outstanding feature would be the freedom it avails the gamer in terms of control. Other laptops may offer this control but none does it better than MSI. It costs about $1,349.
ORIGIN EON17-SLX
For many gamers, this laptop is the ultimate VR gaming machine out there. With a 16 Gig RAM, and storage of up to 1 TB, it brings the video aspects of VR gaming to life. It weighs just 10.5 lbs which is fine by many. However, as it is with most powerful VR laptops, it battery drains really fast.
So these are some of the laptops I can recommend that has enough horsepower to play resource intensive VR games. Which one are your favorites? – Share with us in the comments section below.
