Ladies Circle India & Siddha Group, on 5th Dec 2017, announced the 3rd edition of Siddha Kiddathon going to be held on 10th December, 2017 at Ecopark, Kolkata to support underprivileged kids affected from cancer. Mr Sanjay Jain, Managing Director, Siddha Group, Neha Sethia, Chairperson, Calcutta Central Ladies Circle 27, Ritu Bajaj, Area Chairperson, Ladies Circle India, Actor Kaushik Sen, Dr Rajiv De, Consultant Haemeto –oncology and BMT physician Narayana SuperSpeciality Hospitals, Howrah, MasterChef India Season 5 Kirti Bhoutika were present to unveil the logo of Siddha Kiddathon.
On this occasion the two kids Govinda Das, 17 yrs and Sumita Debnath, 4 yrs were present to share their battle story fighting cancer with a smile. The parent of Sumita thanked such initiatives who is supporting the treatment of their 4 year old child.
Around 2000 kids from various schools across the city would be participating in five run categories which are 4k Apollo running champ, 2.5K Super Champ, 1.25 K Budding Champs A & B category and the much loved 600 meters Mom n me run which the toddlers run with one of their parents. Each kid finishing the run would get a medal, a certificate and gifts. Besides these a big sports carnival with outdoor sports, camping, zipline etc. are being put up for the participants to enjoy.
Siddha Kiddathon is an initiative to give back to the society- as all surplus will be utilized for chemotherapy costs for the less privileged children and other welfare activities. Calcutta Central Ladies Circle 27 have been doing fundraisers every year to support the long term project of Ladies Circle India – Educate to Enlighten, wherein they build and support schools for the underprivileged children. Every year one school is built by the Circle in the rural areas around Kolkata.
“We, at Siddha, are humbled to be a part of this unique initiative for the cancer affected children across India who do not get adequate treatment due to monetary constraints of cancer treatment. We look forward to a successful 3rd edition of Kiddathon. Let’s make our kids run for a cause!” said Mr Sanjay Jain, Managing Director, Siddha Group.
“With more than 1300 dedicated members growing quantitatively year on year, we at Ladies Circle India are continuously working towards the cause of the movement by raising funds and undertaking worthy projects in our areas. Other than taking steps to empower the kids suffering from cancer, this year we have also adopted a slum school where we will ensure proper sanitation & education of all deserving kids. This December let our children be the tool to empower the treatment of some of those underprivileged children and bring smiles on their faces,” said Mrs Neha Sethia, Chairperson, Calcutta Central Ladies Circle 27.
