Medlife Hits 1 Million Customers Mark
In a short span of just over two years post launch , Medlife, a Bengaluru-based health technology company and online pharmacy, has created a customer base of one million unique customers. The largest e-pharmacy in India is on an aggressive expansion strategy to scale up its business to over 100 cities by 2018.
Tushar Kumar, CEO , Medlife, said, “As the pioneer in the fastest growing pharmaceutical market in the world, we are proud to have created this unique healthcare platform for India. And now with one million customers placing their trust in our vision – with high customer referrals and repeat customers – we are driven to dream bigger and work harder. We plan to create a simple ecosystem for patients, which can solve most – if not all – their pain points that exist today. Our target is to grow by at least 10 times within the next three years. With certain exciting launches that we will be announcing soon, Medlife is poised to revolutionise India’s healthcare & pharmaceutical industry in the near future.”
In 2014, Medlife started out with its e-pharmacy business and gradually diversified into 24X7 e-consultation and laboratory services. Today, it offers an array of app-based healthcare-related services across India. For customers who are not digitally savvy, the company also has the option of call-to-order services.
Backed by promoters with credible experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare e-commerce businesses, Medlife is more than just an online medicine delivery platform. By bringing doctors, patients, laboratories and pharmacies under one roof, the company aims to provide a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem to customers for timely diagnosis and effective treatment.
In an endeavour to bridge the huge healthcare gap in the country, the company also offers free e-consultation services, whereby patients can tele -consult with hundreds of general physicians and specialists across India. Since inception, Medlife has followed an inventory-led model for its medicine delivery business, where it buys directly from pharma companies through wholesale partners. In an industry marred by unethical practices, Medlife is firm about abiding by statutory requirements to sell prescription drugs, like antibiotics, only against valid doctors’ prescriptions. Medlife also understands the value of customer’s money and we constantly strive to bring it down either through offering discounts or partnering with e-wallet providers for cash backs or coaching customers towards healthier lives to bring their medication dependency down. Our excellent team of Pharmacists also counsel and coach patients on their medications, something we find completely missing in India and which we plan to change by bringing doctors, pharmacists and customers closer together.
Founded by Tushar Kumar and Prashant Singh in 2014, Medlife today has emerged as one of the frontrunners in enabling better access to healthcare by offering an array of app-based features such as online consultation, e-pharmacy and health related services across India. The company has created a unique platform in the fastest growing pharmaceutical & health services market in the world, and this platform can be the foundation of India’s leading healthcare services business in the years ahead.
