The smartphone market is quite hot these day and seems like the scenario will continue to be same in the coming few months. Mobile phone brands like Nokia, Samsung, HTC, Apple and Motorola are giving tight competition in the smart phone mania and are ready to launch there new innovation in the coming year. In the row, Motorola is expected to launch its new smartphone ‘XT615’ in India in the next year in the price range of Rs. 17,500. It has already launched the new Android based smartphone in Taiwan and is planning to rock the mobile arena with its latest innovation.
The new Android phone offers unique combination of large 4 inch display screen with 8 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and a front camera for video calling. Besides this, it also comprises of wireless technology like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G. The Android version is 2.3 with 800 MHz processor, which seems to be comparatively low in the speed. This combination is chosen by the company to keep the price under the range of Rs. 20000 without compromising much on the features.
The latest handset is perfect combination of high end features except for the processor. The RAM is 512 MB and ROM is 1 GB which provides decent computing power to the handset.
Look wise, the phone definitely look stylish with 9.8 mm thin base and 4 inch large screen along with Android 2.3. For attaching your key chain, there is also some space in the left corner of the phone.
Ritchie Ma, General Manager of Motorola Mobility Taiwan Limited said on the new launch that, “Motorola has always been known for connecting style with the technology’ and this time also we have come with the New Motorola XT615 which is the perfect combination of style and innovation”. He also added that with the latest smartphone from the company, the amazing combination of power and style will be in reach of more people than ever before.
The new handset will also comprise of the Moto Switch user interface, the handset will be launched in two colours – Dark Grey and White. In Taiwan, the phone will be available from December 15th and based on the history of the previous launches from the company, it is expected to hit the Indian market by the end of January or probably even before that. This assumption is based on the launching history of Moto Rarz.
However the biggest challenge which Motorola will face with the new Handset will be the price constraint. In Taiwan, it has been launched at the price equivalent to Rs. 18,600. Under this price range it will face tough competition with the Samsung Galaxy S I9003 with 5 mega pixel camera, which is although of same screen size but processor is of 1 GHz. In the similar feature set, the New Motorola handset will also have to face tight head to head with the LG Optimus Black. Both these phone lies in the price range of Rs 17,500 to Rs 18,000.
Speculations are there that Motorola will definitely keep the prices of its new handset slightly lower than these phones to avoid high competition.
