HOBOT-298 Window Cleaning Robot: A Smarter Way for Sparkling Clean Windows

If you have already invested in many home robots such as robot mops and vacuums, you know how other robots work and the convenience they can give you. These cleaning tools free you from spending a lot of your time and your energy in otherwise physically-demanding tasks of scrubbing, sponging, and wiping repeatedly.

But how about your glass windows? They need cleaning too, especially if you live or work in a highly polluted neighborhood. In this scenario, you need a cleaning robot- a good one.

Don’t know which window cleaning robot to choose? Consider the HOBBIT-298 window cleaning robot – a tool armed with magnets and washing features that stick to the glass window and clean most of the surface. HOBOT-298 Window Cleaning Robot: An Overview

It’s impressive to see a robot that clings to the window without falling. What’s even more fascinating is how HOBOT-298 can stay holding on to the surface while moving its way up and down to clean it. Thanks to its powerful brushless DC motor, the robot can generate enough suction power to hold the robot to the glass and support its weight as it moves.

What’s in the box?

Aside from the main device, you’ll get the following inside the box:

  • Remote control
  • 3 Cleaning cloths
  • Extension cord
  • Power adapter

These are the essentials you need to clean the window. It’s nice to have three cleaning cloths instead of just one, and the inclusion of an extension cord is helpful when cleaning higher and larger windows.

HOBOT-298 Design

HOBOT-298 looks similar to other HOBOT models but has unique and exciting characteristics as well. On the top part of the robot, you can see:

  • battery indicator light
  • start/stop button
  • a power switch
  • water tank
  • power port

Each of these compartments is clearly labeled for easier identification.

The bottom part is more straightforward – it has two wheels, several Velcro pads (where you attach the cleaning pads), and an aerated oval. The holes create suction onto the window to keep it in place.

In general, it looks great. The all-white, square shape and sharp edges contribute to its modern look. In terms of size, the cleaning robot is:

  • Width: 10″
  • Height: 10” tall
  • Thick: 4″
  • Weight: 2.65 lbs.

HOBOT-298 Features

Spray nozzle

This feature is definitely what gives the essence to the window cleaning robot. HOBOT-298 uses an innovative solution for automatic water or detergent spraying into the glass surface. The ultrasonic water spray squirts a 15 mm thick mist, which is comparable to human exhalation. The liquid dissolves dust, which is absorbed by the microfiber cloths located at the bottom of the device.

Built-in detergent dispenser

The spray nozzle is connected to a detergent dispenser containing the water or the detergent used for cleaning. The machine uses 1cc of water per 1 sq.m.

Intelligent surface navigation

The robot uses smart technology to recognize the correct pattern to use when cleaning the window. It has an automatic movement system that precisely cleans every inch of the surface in two stages: horizontally and vertically. This cleaning sequence almost achieves a perfect cleaning of the majority of the surface. The average cleaning speed is about 2.4 min for every square meter.

Smartphone control

As a smart robot, the device can work with minimum intervention from you. Once you download the app in Google Play, you can use the remote to command the robot. The different commands that you can use are carefully labeled in the remote control.

Long power cord and built-in UPS

A long power cord enables the device to cover more surface areas. This feature comes in handy, especially if the power outlet is located far from the window.

The bot will continue to clean even when there is a power outage, thanks to its built-in UPS back-up battery. The battery can last for a few more minutes to clean more surfaces until the electricity is restored.

AI-Technology S2.1 and laser sensors

The robot uses a GYRO sensor, laser sensor, and intelligent navigation system powered by AI-Technology S2.1 to control its movement while cleaning the surface. Meanwhile, the laser sensors can detect the edge of the window to prevent the machine from tripping over.

Other benefits include:

  • Removable tray: For clogged nozzles, simply unscrew and remove the tank and replace it with a new one.
  • Washable microfiber cloths. Wash, dry, and reuse make perfect sense for practicality and protection of the environment.
  • Adaptability. The microfiber cloth and the design of the bot itself make it useful to clean various items like mirrors, glass door panels, shower enclosures, and more.
