Vaatsaalyaa Charitable Trust for Education Launched Five Designers in Asian Designer Week Winter Season 2017

Once again, Vaatsaalyaa Charitable Trust for Education proved that DsyN BlooM contest is the real & transparent opportunity for young and creative design entrepreneurs.

Recently, Vaatsaalyaa put up a show together with Asian Designer Week at Garden of Five Senses as grand finale. Working on the concept – ‘direct entry from design school to fashion week’ provides a platform to young design students and entrepreneurs through DsyN BlooM contest.

This season of DsyN BlooM contest launched five designers on Fashion Week Ramp.

First collection of the show presented by next-gen designer Sonam Ghale.

Traditional hand-woven fabric merging with new trend and brings out more warmth, comfort, humbleness and love for oneself. This Indo-Western design collection inspired from Himachal traditional wear used to see those multi-color handmade embroideries on all traditional attires with hats or pattus.

Second collection was presented by student designer – Komal Arora from International College of Fashion.

‘Substratum’ collection consists of elements like different layered fabrics, silhouette and thread belts. Further, in addition, a western touch with tassels, different sleeves, collar, capes has been given. The fabrics used were green-white floral Organza in combination with green Sydney silk as well as white Dupion and colored tassel to intensify the look as a decorative element in the garments that will go a long way giving the wearer the ultimate modern feel.

Third collection displayed in show was inspired from Buddhism by Mallika Batra, design student, New Delhi YMCA.

The delicate intricacy of colors, lines and element of painted motif mesmerized the audience.

It was dedicated to create a piece for every personality. Hence, the vibrant colors, cool denims, bold prints and classy drapes. The clothes are a blend of Indian diverse spirituality and arts with western culture.
 
“Nakkashi” was presented by Akshar Bhan.

It depicts different cultures and eras of the rich and diverse Indian art and architecture in the form of intricate embroideries on Indian Fabrics complimented with vivid tones and textures. Collection portrays an ideal unification of various religions in form of varied embroidered patterns that can be seen through. ‘NAKKASHI’ has been created using rich ethnic fabrics.

Featuring floral patterns with intricate hand embroidery and embellishments done finely to accentuate each motif in the attire. Zardozi and Dabka done delicately by hand and used in perfect balance.
 
Mughal-E-Azam by Mazhar Rizvi was inspired by Mughal era. The collection was in royal colors like- royal blue, maroon, turquoise and black. This ethnic men’s wear collection was embellished by zardozi, colored crystals and pearls on rich velvets. The attires were complimented with beautifully draped dhotis and stoles.    
 
Finale sensation created by Dolly Nagpal and the collection NOOR-E-IZDIHAR inspired by Persian architecture. It’s the fusion wear collection in royal colors as-maroon, emerald green, yellow and blue enhanced with beautiful motifs by royal antique zari, dori work with metal sequences.  

This collection was the perfect balance between Modern persona, traditional style and beauty in each of the designs, the embroidery shows the patterns inspired by the architecture of Persia. The drapes and silhouette enhance the beauty of the collection in Persian look.
 
“DsyN BlooM is one of its kind contest for Fashion design students to get the opportunity to showcase their collection at Fashion Weeks. Through DsyN BlooM, the design student can grab the golden opportunity to get the direct launch at the Fashion Weeks, while completing the Design course. Now, design students don’t have to wait for years to showcase their collections at Fashion Weeks. Second season of Vaatsaalyaa is with Asian Designer Week,” says Kappil Kishor, Chairman Vaatsaalyaa.
 
“Through DsyN BlooM, we are giving once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to the Fashion Design students to showcase their talent through the Fashion Weeks. We not only provide a ramp to the students, but also an exposure to the global market. All the design students really worked hard to compete with each other and be the winner. The winners have the innovation and potential, which we are looking to promote,” says Shivangi Kishor, Trustee, Vaatsaalyaa.

In the final jury before the show Fashion Photographer Rohit Suri, Zoom Delhi Editor Krishan Tiwari and Bollywood Designer Rohini Gugnani gave their valuable suggestions. Photoshoot was conducted by Rohit Suri in ANP Studio, Noida, makeup and hairstyle by Sugandha and JDVC team.
