What is UGC NET? How do you get UGC NET Result?

UGC NET is University Grant Commission National Eligibility Test which is conducted by CBSE twice a year. It conducts NET in 84 subjects in 91 examination cities.

The UGC NET Result is uploaded on http://cbseresults.nic.in/ , you can check your result there by following steps-

  • Enter your Application number
  • Enter your Roll number
  • Enter your Date of Birth
  • Click Submit and view your result

What career options do you have after UGC NET Result?

Once you clear UGC NET, you are eligible for job post of Assistant Professor, but if you have also given UGC JRF you can apply for Junior Research Fellowship.

List down below are the career options that you can choose from after UGC NET Result –

  • Assistant Professor – This is the first step after UGC NET Result in field of lecturer. Eligibility criteria for this post is
  • Master’s Degree with 55% minimum marks in Indian University or licensed foreign university.
  • Candidates who have been awarded Ph.D. Degree in accordance to UGC Regulations, 2009 or as per the eligibility conditions of university, candidates may be relieved from eligibility of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment of candidates for the post in university.
  • Associate Professor – After Assistant Professor, you get post of Associate Professor, for this job post the eligibility criteria is
  • Good academic record and holding a Ph.D. Degree in allied discipline.
  • Minimum of 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in teaching and/or research.
  • Minimum score in Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), as set out in UGC Regulations, 2010.
  • Professor – This is the senior job post in the field of lectureship. For eligibility criteria, look down below-
  • 10 years of minimum experience in teaching in University/College or in research in University/National level institutions/industries.
  • Minimum score in Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), as set out in UGC Regulations, 2010.
  • Candidate with good work experience and established reputation who has appropriate contribution to the knowledge in allied discipline.
