Map of India Android App Review: An Offline Maps For All India!

You might have seen many apps for GPS navigation in India but without the internet, the experience gets degraded a lot. So if you are looking for an offline alternative, then Map of India  app is the best out there

Map of India Android App Review

As I said already, this app basically turns any of your Android smartphone and table into a GPS navigator, that no longer requires any internet connection. As the data plans are fluctuating in the signal strength and in some places have no connectivity at all, this is a great alternative to your native Google Maps app.

Map of India 1Like any other map software or dedicated GPS navigator like Tom TomStart 20, this app also comes with all the basic features you need for travel. Starting from route planning, you can also save your regular locations and routes as well.

Map of India 2App allows you to find nearby places like accommodation, parking, restaurants, bars, clubs, cinemas, theaters, auto services, shops, parks, schools, hospitals, sport areas & more.

You can search the points of interests and destination by selecting the region, city, streets and building names, which makes improves your route precision. As expected this app will also avail you the shortest route possible to your destination.

Map of India 4Details maps of the most important cities in India are already embedded in the app, and you do not have to download anything more. Following is the list of such cities –

Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Surat, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Nagpur, Indore, Thane, Bhopal, Visakhapatnam, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Patna, Vadodara, Ghaziabad, Ludhiana, Agra, Nashik, Faridabad, Meerut, Rajkot, Kalyan-Dombivali, Vasai-Virar, Solapur and more.

Zooming in and out of maps is quite easy, and only things missing in this app is 3D map view and turn by turn voice navigation, which I totally do not expect to come with a Free Android app.

Even after being a very feature rich app, this app lacks a sense of design and comes with a very basic skeleton of maps. Like me, if you have used the high-end navigation software/devices , you will find the overall experience quite basic. The performance on the other hand is very fluent, thanks to low graphic needs and you can use it even in a cheapest Android device out there.

Again, the major point is, when I tried this app in my car it was working precisely on the streets of Nasik & Pune. Meaning it does its core work without internet properly and that is what I think you should try this app at least once.
