Nokia C5 Review – 3G Smartphone With Delightful Experience

Nokia released some new phones recently & I haven’t got chance to review many of them because I was too busy with Android & Apple iOS research.

So here I am, back with some cool new Nokia phones & let’s start up with the best of all – Nokia C5

System

Nokia C 5 is a true delight over Nokia’s Symbian Symbian OS v9.3 (Series 60 ) which is powered by 600 MHz of ARM processor & 128 MB of RAM. Phone comes in candy bar form & its processor configuration is well enough for handling good multitasking at same time. The overall experience over this new version of Symbian is really nice looking & faster overall.

Physical Appearance/ Design

Phone feels really good in hand & have a richer look compared to other phones in similar design. Its made of high grade of material & those extra bucks are made worth by its overall design. Nokia C5 have 2.2 inches of display and 320 x 240 pixels of QVGA resolution.

Phone weighs around 90 grams & i is of dimension – 112 x 46 x 12.3 mm. So its very handy, comfortable for pockets & solid enough for rough usage.

Memory

Phones comes with 50MB of internal memory & external memory card of 2 GB free with the handset. Great news is the memory slot is hot swappable for easy accessibility & you an expand it up to 16GB by using MicroSD card.

Connectivity

For connectivity they have provided the standard 2G EDGE/GPRS , 3G for video calling & high speed Internet data access, Bluetooth & USB data cable for connecting it with your PC or laptop.  For better navigation -they have provided Integrated A-GPS receiver,pre-installed  Ovi Maps 3.0 , Ovi Maps Loader application via PC & Free lifetime navigation from Nokia. So its a great phone for travellers too.

Apps & Web

Some interesting pre-installed software/apps includes Voice memo/dial, Organizer, Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), Facebook, YouTube, Nokia OVI Maps 3.0 and Store access. With Nokia Ovi stores you can get access to hundreds of more paid/free apps as well as games. Though Ovi store yet lacks very much compared to App stores from Apple & Android – This phone not really fit in to that kind of smartphone race but is a good phone for regular app users.

Multimedia & Camera

Multimedia features are at its finest by offering support for MP3/WAV/eAAC+/WMA auido formats & MP4/H.264/H.263 for videos but you’ll still miss the support for DivX & Xvid Codecs in this Nokia phone. Again, 3.5 mm audio jack adds up more space for music junkies to connect headphones of your choice.

Nokia C5 comes with the 3.2 megapixel camera (1536 x 2048 pixels), & Full Focus EDOF (extended depth of field) technology It also captures images up to 4x digital zoom have LED flash for better quality in dark. C5 also comes with Secondary camera for video calls which is of VGA resolution 640 x 480 pixels. Video recording is not very good but its of VGA resolution and provides many settings for adding extra fun. We are not much happy with its Video but Heads up for its camera quality.

Nokia C5 Price in India

Nokia C5 comes with price of Rs. 7500 in India & is worth for a phone like this which gives you Richer UI,  Delightful look & very fast performance in overall tests.

Our Verdict

If you area true Nokia lover & don’e want any cheap android or something Nokia C5 is best smartphone you can buying less than Rs.8000. It gives you good music experience, faster UI, web browsing & cool apps for productivity. The only feature you might miss is Wi Fi,  but if you like using 3G or Edge then its not much of a concerning factor.

DC Rating – 8.5/10
