Google’s Nexus 10 V/s 4th Generation iPad

In the race of ‘who is the best in 10 inches’ Google has launched the much awaited 10 inches Nexus 10 which is co-manufactured by Samsung. This launch came just a week after the official announcement of 4th Generation iPad- iPad Mini. Windows Surface is also in the race; however the real competition is between the all time greatest Innovation Company and the Search Engine Giant which came out with Nexus 10 against the iPad family. Let us have a look to the specs of both these devices and also see them head to head.

Google’s Nexus 10 Vs 4th Generation iPad

Screen Resolution:

Apple has always been known for offering the best display as per the industry standards, however this time Google has beaten Apples Retina concept. Nexus 10 came up with resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels on 10.6 inches display which is much more than that of iPad 3 and also the 4th generation iPad.

New iPad has got the resolution of 2048×1536 pixels screen which is like 264 pixels per inches on the 9.7 inches display of iPad. In terms of aspect ratio also Nexus 10 is ahead of iPad family which offers 4:3 aspect ratio as compared to the 16:9 which is offered in Nexus 10.

So if you are looking for the quality then Nexus 10 is an ideal deal.

Processors:

Nexus 10 is equipped with dual core 1.7 GHz Samsung Exynos processor and is powered with ARM T604 graphics processor. It also has got 2 GB of RAM which is better as compared to 1 GB found in Apple iPad which runs on A6 dual core and with dedicated quad core graphics card.

Both the devices are expected to offer premium performance, however as per the available configs, Nexus 10 appears to be much faster as compared to iPad.

Camera & Audio

Nexus 10 has got the pair of front facing stereo speakers on both the sides of display and is also equipped with 5 MP rear and 1.9 MP front facing camera for 3G and video chat. It also supports NFC and also has got micro HDMI port.

Compared to this, Apple 4th generation iPad has got 5 MP main and 1.2 MP front facing camera and it also doesn’t support NFC.

OS:

Android 4.2, the build of Jelly Bean is powering the Nexus 10 ship and it has got new features like gesture tying and also the exclusive features like panorama photo support.

4th gen iPad runs on iOS 6 and has got the support of SIRI, however we have heard the news of buggy Apple Maps App which brings down the charisma of much talked about iOS6.

Connectivity Features:

Nexus 10 supports WIFI but it doesn’t support 3G or 4G, compared to this iPad 4 delivers stunning performance on 3G as well as on 4G.

Price:

The 4th Generation iPad WIFI only version is available at USD 500 and compared to this the price of Nexus 10 16 GB would be USD 400 and it will be USD 500 for 32 GB. Nexus 10 is expected to go for sale on November 16th on Google Play.

Verdict

Well overall what I feel is, that Nexus 10 seems like an ideal alternative to 4th generation iPad, if you are looking for big screen resolution and price as the aspects to choose the tablet. However Apple has its own charisma which has never seen the sun set until yet. Both the devices has got some goods and some bads, but as far as overall performance and other aspects are concerned, Google has done good homework to beat the performance and charisma of 4th generation iPad.
